There is a long thread of comments on Y Combinator/Hacker News with some interesting takes. One important point was that this isn’t just Redhat, this is also things like Ansible that Redhat acquired in 2015. Redhat has been a huge contributor to many open source projects, including the Linux kernel itself. Evidently (according to the HN comments), IBM has some less than supportive past behavior relative to open source. Stay tuned.
