I wonder if paywalls on news sites make more business sense when those sites are modernly classified more as “entertainment” than “educational”. I think “the news” has come a long way from just a rich dude with a printing press wanting to make his opinion known to the masses.
Personally, I sometimes use free or not as a single metric for determining if something is more for education & public awareness or entertainment.
Gosh, I feel like a chump. I gave up Facebook for >1yr and didn’t get paid anything! It would be interesting to see how those numbers vary across broader age groups.

Interesting. I’ve used MIT before on small side projects. I’ll have to revisit that at some point.
