The recent coziness between Firefox and Cloudflare makes me uncomfortable. With Firefox’s DoH feature the only option out-of-the-box is to use Cludflare’s DNS. Firefox’s upcoming VPN-ish service, Firefox Private Network, also uses Cloudflare servers. I generally trust Firefox; they exist to make the web less crappy. I don’t trust Cloudlfare; they just exist to make money.

That’s fair, but CF does a lot of good for the internet, in general, to be honest. I don’t trust them, but at this point their good far outweighs their bad.

They did SSL for everyone, before LE kicked off. They still offer it, but actually in their docs (Last I checked) said it was better to use LE; as an example.

I agree that they do good things for the internet, but I’m not sure we can count on them to continue to do good things for the internet; especially as they’re moving towards becoming a publically traded company.

Most certainly. Don’t trust any business that’s traded on the stock exchange :)
