It’s not so much about the protocol but about the community. I use Gopher and Gemini. I find Gemini awesome and I read Antenna and Cosmos daily (+ many gemlogs to which I subscribed).
I really like how it feels like the original blogosphere. It is written by individuals. They write about what they want to write without caring about “what people want to read”.
Is it interesting? For 80%, no. But that’s the point. That’s refreshing to read other people writing about stuff not really into my field of interest. Reading people who write about normal life struggle.
Does anyone here have favorites almong these? I’ve only used Gemini and Gopher. I like Gemini in principle, but don’t use it much.
